Mega fresh organics market
Here is a section by section break down of what to expect. Think of it as a goodness emporium. It's a World Market. If you're a foodie, this is your mecca. KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: no credit cards, debit cards and checks okay. BRING A JACKET. It's never warm in there. Even "hot natured" people complain of the cold. Tuesdays are calm and quite but the selection is lower. There is a lot of restocking on Tuesdays. Saturdays and Sundays are a mad house. Many different languages are spoken by both the employees and the patrons, so say "excuse me" loud and clear to keep the traffic controlled.
Veggies galore and fruit from the best farms. Things are fresh and the signage tells you the origins. I like to know what state my produce is grown in so I can make better carbon choices.
Excellent wine and beer section has local brews and sustainable vintages. But no alcohol on Sundays- it's our law here in GA.
If you eat meat, there is natural and sustainable turkey, chicken, rabbit, pork, and buffalo. There is organic grass fed beef as well. They have a nice selection of special recipe sausages made from turkey, chicken, pork, and beef. The poultry ones are in sheep casing for those of us who don't eat pork. The meat area also has duck, Cornish hens, whole birds, and quail.
The fish market is insane. Every size shrimp, scallop, clam, crab, and other shelled creature. Plenty of wild caught fish and farm raised fish. There is a live tank as well.
Mega selection of cheeses gets crowded. There is a deli area for sliced meats and cheeses. Widest selection of bleus I've ever seen in one place. I've only seen non-homogenized milk. If you're looking for your standard 2%, better luck elsewhere.
Bakery is fresh and natural. They make whole wheat organic and traditional white breads. There is a coffee bar that sells special pastries and cakes and pies. There is also a lunch cafe area sold by weight.
Awesome recycling center where you can learn how to build a compost.

Yuck smell from not natural stuff
Do your homework friends!! If you have any chemical sensitivities (ie if you are a carbon based life form or know some that you love), please check for an MSDS (material safety data sheet) on your cleaning products. Some of the dyes and stabilizers and fragrances are gnarly!
Text from the company website:
"Our fragrances contain natural essential oils and other non-natural ingredients to ensure safety, consistent performance and quality."
"The process of ethoxylation is used to enlarge molecules, improve mildness, change solubility parameters and foaming properties of certain ingredients. There is some concern that this process produces a by-product that is a known carcinogen. Our raw material suppliers are under strict regulation by the government to eliminate this contaminant and employ a number of procedures to remove it."

safe make up
women eat a lot of lip stick. seriously. If you like to wear lip color, wear something natural, that way if it ends up in your stomach, you'll be just fine. This stuff is minty and smells wonderful. It's nice when your mouth smells minty.
it really is awesome
You are reading this review because you feel sick or someone you love feels sick and you are looking for a natural healthy solution. GET OFF YOUR COMPUTER AND GO TO THE CO-OP. Nature is good. You don't have to suffer. major chains like Kroger, Harris Teeter, and Publix have this stuff now.
My best friend swears by it
She is a medical professional in the ER and is working her way through PA school. She is in contact with really gross everything and works ridiculous 3rd shift hours. She takes this stuff and doesn't get sick. I've tried it a few times at her request when I already had a cold. It seems to be a better preventative. Take it before you get on a plane or go into a classroom.
They expand, we win
The stores are expanding to include an Eco Shoppe!! Now you can get healthy stuff for your insides and cool things for the outside: cleaners, gizmos, pet stuff, etc. Lower your carbon footprint and make one stop.
Best Doggie Spa Day
Drop 'em off nasty and pick them up shiny and clean! Awesome groomer is hilarious. They used a nice chemical free shampoo on my dogs. When I visit Chapel Hill to see my Heels play, that's where my dogs stay. Indoor-outdoor doggie area is like being at home, except they've got new human friends to play with.
Even the Picky Puppy Likes them
I have 3 dogs right now. I could have more tomorrow so check back... silly big heart for rescues! Anyway
My rottie mix Petunia-Picky-Pants is a big fan of the hunger strike, but Old Mother Hubbard has her number. She's tried many of the foods and treats and consistantly finishes her bowl. The big bag of the littlest bones are the crowd pleaser. I have a senior citizen dog who struggles with his weight (see my profile photo). I can feel like a good mom giving him these treats because they are small (few calories) and natural (not empty calories) and tasty. They actually smell pretty good too. They are small enough to use as training treats for my baby dog.
I love my Hybrid!
My tank average is currently 42 mpg and the thing is like a living room inside. I drive about 80 miles every day because I am a freelancer and public transit doesn't go to many of the places I go daily. I love my upgraded sound system. It was the only one on the lot when I bought it, so I didn't intend to have such a fancy car. But because the electric motor is so quite, children (wild forest creatures on two legs and skateboards) in my neighborhood don't hear me coming. I crack my windows and turn up the NPR so they hear me coming and get out of the road.
sustainable cheese
yum! Sweet Grass Dairy ( a Sustainable dairy) available here! Woo Hoo! The best gouda you've ever had comes from happy happy happy GA cows.
