Review of Solar Holiday Lights by Gaiam

4 star rating Review of Solar Holiday Lights August 27, 2007 | Posted in Electronics & Appliances

solar powered twinkly lights I purchased these solar lights last December, and hung them on the awning in my backyard. My Dad helped me screw the small solar panel base at the top of the awning so it would catch the most sun, and it's very sturdy.

I purchased the white lights (they also come in red) and they are very pretty...

Review of Mosscara by Aveda

4 star rating Review of Mosscara August 24, 2007 | Posted in Cosmetics & Perfume

mossy mosscara This mascara smells like moss! Seriously! Until it dries you can totally tell that it has some seriously earthy ingredients. It has good coverage, is not insanely pricey, and doesn't smudge off. It is in no way waterproof, but it doesn't claim to be so that's okay.

I'm not positive about the...

Review of Organic Gardening

4 star rating Review of Organic Gardening August 24, 2007 | Posted in Books, Mags, Music & Film

I look forward to it. I have been a subscriber to Organic Gardening Magazine for a couple of years now. I love reading it, it is packed with organic tips on soil, pests, plant species, food gardens, tools, etc. They also have a story about a community garden in most issues which is really fun to read. I've used it this...

Review of Dishwashing Liquid with Camomile & Marigold by Ecover

5 star rating Review of Dishwashing Liquid with Camomile & Marigold August 24, 2007 | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry

No complaints I have zero complaints about this dishwashing soap. It smells nice, doesn't leave my hands chafed, and works as a soap should. If what they say on the bottle about it being eco friendly is all true, than this is a great replacement for the other stinky greasy soaps out there.

Review of Ice Cream by Straus Family Creamery

4 star rating Review of Ice Cream August 23, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

yums This ice cream is creamy, rich, and full of vanilla goodness. It's organic, and I've read on the side of a Straus milk jar that they use the poop from their cows to power their facilities. And, I imagine that their cows are happier than the poor guys I see on I5 going down to LA.

The bites I had...

Review of Peach Pie by Wholly Wholesome

5 star rating Review of Peach Pie August 23, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

peachy pie hip hip hurrah This pie is great. It's vegan, but you can't tell by the taste. They use veggie/soy oils instead of butter. They also use evaporated cane juice instead of processed sugars.

The peaches are sweet and tasty, the crust is flaky. You can buy them partially baked, but this one was finished off at...

Review of Cherry Pie by Wholly Wholesome

5 star rating Review of Cherry Pie August 23, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

so good, doesn't taste vegan This pie is delicious. Seriously. I am super critical of changing pastry recipes, but these guys did a good job. Instead of butter they use veggie/soy oil, and they use evaporated cane juice not processed sugar.

The crust is flaky, the cherries are tart. You can buy the pies partially baked and...

Review of Chakra Aveda SalonSpa

4 star rating Review of Chakra Aveda SalonSpa August 23, 2007 | Posted in San Francisco, Spas & Retreat Centers

i've never had a better haircut I've been going to this Aveda salon for about one year. I decided to go there originally because Aveda supposedly is more eco friendly in their products than other cosmetic lines (it is true, but the degree is questionable I think).

I was really lucky that I was randomly assigned to Thomas for...

Review of Breakfast Burrito by Amy's Kitchen

4 star rating Review of Breakfast Burrito August 23, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

Breakfast Burrito I've said it before, Amy's frozen burritos are yumyum good. This is the first time I've tried their breakfast burrito, and I'd say the best part is it has no cheese so it isn't all greasy and heavy like other breakfast burritos. It has many many organic ingredients, most of them are really, and it...

Review of Angel Fluffs by 365 Organic Everyday Value

4 star rating Review of Angel Fluffs August 21, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

organic snacko These poofs are pretty good. The flavor is good, and they're organic. I just wish they were a little more crunchy like a Cheeto, my favorite unhealthy salty snack which I eat about once in a blue moon now. If I find an eco snack that can spar with the cheeto, I think green will have finally arrived...
