Review of Burrito Especial by Amy's Kitchen

5 star rating Review of Burrito Especial August 21, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

I heart Amy's frozen burritos I haven't eaten an Amy's burrito that I didn't like, and this is no exception. Its organic ingredients include: flour, black beans, onions, rice, tomatoes, bell peppers, green chilies, garlic. The burrito is only 270 calories w/ 6g fat and 9g protein.

The company is also based in Petaluma, CA...

Review of Peppermint Glycerin Hand Soap by Avalon Organics

5 star rating Review of Peppermint Glycerin Hand Soap August 17, 2007 | Posted in Skin & Body Care

smells good & works This soap is really nice. It has a very calm scent of peppermint. At first I felt like I was using breath mints as soap, but then after getting used to it, every time I used an un-natural scented soap it was way too strong and assaulted my nose big time.

The lather is good, you can often get a...

Review of Organic Sucanat by Wholesome Sweeteners

5 star rating Review of Organic Sucanat August 16, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

doesn't dissolve well but much nicer than sugar Wholesome Sweeteners is a great company to support. They use the sugar cane as their power, they grow organic, and this stuff is healthier than sugar. It's not nearly as processed - which also means it doesn't dissolve like granulated sugar would.

Review of Organic Raw Blue Agave by Wholesome Sweeteners

4 star rating Review of Organic Raw Blue Agave August 16, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

really really sweeeeeeet This stuff is organic and raw, which is cool. And I've spoken with some of the people that work here and they are really great people.

The stuff is really good, but really sweet, so add a little and taste as you go otherwise you'll end up puckering like a crazy.

Review of Organic Creamy Buckwheat by Bob's Red Mill

5 star rating Review of Organic Creamy Buckwheat August 16, 2007 | Posted in Food & Grocery

morning goodness I tried this buckwheat at the suggestion of the same coworker mentioned below. :) Once I got the measurements right (my fault for not having a measuring cup) this was a tasty morning meal. I love oats, and this is a nice twist on oatmeal. It's gluten free, which is good for some folks, and Bob makes...

Review of Dryer Balls by Gaiam

5 star rating Review of Dryer Balls August 16, 2007 | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry

Odd looking dryer balls When I saw these the first time, I thought no way they can work! Months later, I thought to myself if they do work, though, that means no more buying dryer sheets or fabric softener, which is more often than not toxic with nasty perfumes not to mention expensive.

When I finally ordered them, I...

Review of Orleans Hill - Viognier by Nevada County Wine Guild

5 star rating Review of Orleans Hill - Viognier August 9, 2007 | Posted in Beer, Wine & Spirits

actually, I liked it Looking at the other reviews of this wine, I feel kind of silly to give it 5 stars. But I genuinely enjoyed this wine. I'm not a big wine drinker, I rarely have a glass just to have a glass, if you get my drift. But this was tasty, it didn't bite me, and it was sweet and light. I hear it's under...

Review of EWG: Cosmetic Safety Database

4 star rating Review of EWG: Cosmetic Safety Database August 9, 2007 | Posted in Environment and Society

Awesome resource idea As the other reviewers have said, this is a really great resource to do some research about the personal care products out there. I feel like the engine has gotten faster, but maybe it's my imagination. But I've noticed that for most of the products, there's a 65 - 80% "data gap," which means that...

Review of gcycle

5 star rating Review of gcycle August 7, 2007 | Posted in Recycling & Reusing

Hilarious, useful, fun This website is powered by earth911 which is a site that helps you find where to recycle stuff. You should go to it to see what I mean, it's a really funny site. The simple and not so gorgeous animation is really funny, and the facts are factual. The utility of then finding where to take your e...

Review of Medicine New-Shojin Eatstation

2 star rating Review of Medicine New-Shojin Eatstation August 6, 2007 | Posted in San Francisco, Restaurants

flavorless sadness I went here once right when it opened, and was completely uninspired. The idea of a whole bunch of veggies and brown rice and tofu was great. But it didn't taste like anything. Even I, the bland food lover, thought it was just so boring.

I went back again, and had a similar experience. I wish it...
