got GOOD?
man, i LOVE this magazine. it is gorgeous, colorful, inspiring. every month tackles a different issue: travel, education, eating, etc, only it ditches the soapbox behind, instead opting for sexy and lucid graphics, and great tidbits about just about everything. i buy this mag by the bunches and hand them out to friends. i subscribe to GOOD, and feel great knowing 100% of my subscription goes towards supporting the charity of my choice, SLOW FOOD.
if you favorite shop doesn't carry it, ask them why not? subscribe now; you'll feel GREAT.

Leggo of my eGo!
This little engine that did, is the best electric bike out there. Solidly built with a 10 year chassis warranty, this electric vehicle is legally a bike that rides like a scooter. The commuter model gets me around, often times towing up to 120 lbs of groceries in my Burley trailer hitched to the back. It can go up to 23-24 mph, and gets around 20 miles on a single charge. Equipped with head and rear lights, turning signals, rear view mirrors, and a secondary brake system, this ride is perfect for around the town errands, without a single drop of petrol! I'm enjoying the ride and couldn't recommend this bike often enough. Check it out!

Simple, effective, stink-free
This product has only what you need to get through the day without stinking up the joint. No aluminum, no horrendous chemical version of cologne; nothing harmful is added. I've tried other "natural" deodorants but with little success; once the going got tough, the girl got smelly. Miessence Organics deodorant works, simply & effectively. The secret: baking soda. I've been using it for over year now, & no matter how sweaty this girl gets, I'm dewy, not stinky, and that's the sweet smell of success.

backyard chickens
one way to reduce garbage and a fun one to boot is to have a couple of urban backyard chickens. hens, eat the leftovers ( i even brought pails home from the work kitchen), produce delicious free-range eggs and give hours of entertainment. our trash is easily cut in half by have these walking, clucking composting machines, who eat food waste that would otherwise go into the trash, and there's the bonus of delightful interaction with these feathered characters. oh yeah, they keep mosquitos and garden pests in line too.
one trip to the local pet store in the spring can get you one for under 3 bucks, and the cost of caring for them is nominal. an investment to crow about.

hot chocolate that kicks!
to warm you up this fall, try Dagoba's spicy twist on hot cocoa mix. Made from chocolate that is certified organic and fair trade, this is a real chocolate powder that adds a mayan twist with organic vanilla, nutmeg and (POW!) a pinch of chili powder. It's absolutely delicious, and a perfect warm-up to crisp cold autumnal nights.
