Review of Fornino

~Fresh home grown pizza~

Wow, this is that good. The ingredients are bought from small farms, the pie is made with local artisinal cheese and yes! the toppings are grown right in Chef Michael Ayoub's garden. *Best wood oven, artisinal pizza ever!*

Bio Bags rock!

A great replacement for plastic bags. I work for a trade show decorator and we use them at every show. In fact, we liked BioBags so much that we use them in place of vinyl tabletops - saving our shows from the curse of pvc. BioBags is a great company with an inventive, open staff. Love them!

Review of Frog's Leap

Frog's Leap -no- Awesome Leap

Not only is Frog's Leap 100% solar powered, have a potentially self sustaining garden, it's housed in a LEED certified and has over 200 acres of organic grapes. But even better *Frog's Leap has the best tour in Napa* and *The Greatest staff ever!* I highly recommend Frog's leap not just for the sustainability factor, but because they have Awesome wine.

Minty Smile for the camera

LOVE IT! Even before I made a conscious decision to "go green", I was using Tom's of Maine Mint toothpaste. Why? Because the flavor is fantastic and not artificial AND it feels super clean.

Review of Hand Cream

Not just a hand cream, a fantasy cream for hands.

Putting on Sabon hand cream is like taking a mini break during the day. The smell is so lovely, without being over powering, that your mind takes a small scent break and goes back to work calmly reinvigorated.

Review of Shower Gel

Shower Oil?? No Oil that was sent from God to delight your body and your nose

I may have mentioned my difficulties in finding organic soap to replace my beloved Dove. Well * Duh* I use this everyday, it's not only all natural but the glass container and the paper wrapping are totally sustainable. *Sabon has the greatest body products ever invented*

The smell alone cures me of stress and any overt aggression from my day. The oil is thick without the greesy feel and so cleansing.

I LOVE IT.

Review of Sabon

Sabon - My dreams have come to life

* I recently moved from New York, where Sabon stores dotted the landscape*

Oh heaven! Sabon's lotions, cremes, scents and scrubs are the best I have ever used. The all natural, organic ingredients and beautiful scent combinations make me want to jump on a plane to Israel and jump in the dead sea (where all their ingreients hail from).

You can order on line, and should. But if you happen to be in Pleasenton (??) you must run to this store and enjoy a nice hand bathe from the store owners.

My best friend from Texas visited me - she was absolutly aghast at my studio apartment, propensity to eat out and the amount of money I spend on entertainment. The only thing she was impresed at was my Sabon scrub and lotion which she used everyday.

I love the Patcholi Lavender Vanilla Shower oil and the hand creme.

Review of Max Mini Chunk

Dog food without the by-products

To preface this, I want to say that the NutroMax (wet) dog food was involved in the recall, just because Nutro Max doesn't use animal by-products does not mean it's manufacturing plants are sanitary.

That said, the mini chunks contains real chicken and lamb, and don't contain chemical preservatives. My vet reccomended the Nutro Brand as one that is reasonably priced and healthy for Milo.

From their website: "During 1999 Nutro began requiring its suppliers to provide affidavits assuring that no companion animals, or adverse chemicals, were included in any of our ingredients."

Review of Essential

Shampoo with out the animal testing, and ummm.. it's herbal

I admit, I did not buy this, my boyfriend did. He is that one step closer to green than I am. But that's ok - because if he buys it, i can TRY it and see IF I like it.

Good thing, I do LIKE it. The smell is slightly buble-gum, or candy-esque, which is not cool and why I didn't give 5 stars.

BUT! I Love the way it makes my hair feel, right from the moment I wash out the suds. Slightly squeaky clean, although at first you think you haven't rinsed it all out, you realize there is just no chemical overlay on your hair.

Review of City CarShare

The words city and car should not be used in the same breath, but if they are...

Unlike New York, SF is one of those cities where are car comes in quite useful. Not only does CCS save me money - no insurance, no parking, no gas, no car payment- but it's usually there when I need it. They have pods all over the city, and tons of cars to chose from.

I don't love their automated system, but their online site is fab-o.
