Meadow Stone Farm, Brooklyn, CT - a little piece of heaven on earth.
Having very sensitive skin, I bought some soap from Annemarie a few years ago. I didn't know what would be best for me, so Annemarie was very kind and sent me some additional soaps she thought I could use. They were all made from her Saanen goats milk and very soothing and healing. I was surprised to find out the one soap I thought was too strong for me was, in fact, just as soothing as the others.
Last year my family took a day trip to Meadow Stone Farm. Having had dairy animals in the past, I know a well-run operation when I see one. Without a doubt, Kris and Annemarie run a clean and healthy dairy farm. It's a combination of an old time farm combined with modern hygiene methods.
That day I traded some of my fresh eggs from my chicken flock for some fresh goat milk. Meadow Stone Farm's Saanen goats' milk was A-Plus ... sweet, creamy, digestible and alive with all the goodness one would expect to find in something so fresh. My normal aches and pains were considerably eased during the week I drank that milk.
The day we visited, Kris showed us his artisan goat cheeses and we were given tastes of the various kinds. It's hard to describe how exquisitely delicious they were. I've since enjoyed some of the newer varieties - all excellent.
And now, Meadow Stone Farm has their own chickens & eggs!
I only wish I lived closer.
