Infrastructurist points us to a fascinating report by America2050.

(I hadn’t heard of them either: they are “a national initiative to meet the infrastructure, economic development and environmental challenges of the nation as we prepare to add about 130 million additional Americans by the year 2050.”) about how we should plan to implement a high speed rail network in this country. Of particular interest is the interactive graphic which details three proposed phases of construction, and the list below of what city-to-city connections should be prioritized.
