Address map 1298 Market StAnanda Fuara is a great spot for creative and tasty vegetarian food. I've been there a dozen or so times over the past dozen years and really like the place. For those of you that are okay with soy, try the 'Neatloaf,' a veggie meatloaf which is amazing. The Yogi tea and deserts are nice too.
It's got a nice community feel as well, individual diners are often seated next to each other as the 4-tops are split into 2-tops.
Note the blue flowy clothing the servers wear and the pictures of the guru Sri Chimnoy who supposedly wrote thousands of poems and painted nearly a million paintings of birds. That part makes it all slightly trippy but pretty undeniably in support of good health and good eating.

Ananda Fuara is one of "those" places where you notice that things are a little different. The servers are wearing saris, in this case, and there are plenty of books, posters and other items that show a strong link to their spiritual leader. The menu, however, is straight-up vegetarian diner fare -- it's healthy and delicious. Back in my pregan days, I would eat the Vegetarian Neatloaf (sadly, it has ricotta cheese) -- but they have plenty of delicious vegan options and a wide range of stunning vegan desserts.
As cliche as it may sound - they have great salads. Dishes are affordably priced -- though the soft drinks are a bit overpriced in comparison. Stick with tea or water and some tasty, wholesome food.
Ananda Fuara is right by the Main public library -- be sure to visit while you're there.

Chicken pesto wrap to die for! The ambiance is a little new age and the service efficient friendly and slightly stoned. The food is absolutely amazing. A cup of dal that should rightly be called a bowl of goodness. The fake turkey, fake bacon club sandwich is a savory lunch favorite. Vegan cookies and an assortment of teas round out a great meal. The customers are diverse and amiable and if you show up during the lunch rush, you'll be seated with a new friend.
