ARCADE is an independent magazine devoted to design issues. Volume 27 (Sept ’08 – June ’09), the WASTE volume, is devoted to the many manifestations of waste and how we, in the design community and beyond, can learn to live and deal with our staggering waste. We’ve had rave response and have now reached far into the green and sustainability communities.
Beginning September 2009, ARCADE Volume 28 will be titled NEW ALCHEMY/NEW RULES and devote an entire year to the four basic elements that make up the universe—earth, air, fire and water—as a lens through which to investigate design post-climate change.
Our mission for the series is to invite our readers to reconsider ordinary things in new ways. WE need to rules for a new dire reality. WE need to reset our thinking, and hopefully, by default do our part in helping to reset the system.
