Beautiful flooring

We have bamboo flooring and it's beautiful. We got the engineered bamboo because we have a concrete subfloor and couldn't nail down. So it's a floating floor, and we put it in ourselves. It was very easy and it looks awesome.

One thing I would suggest is to look at different brands and the hardness of the finish. If we could do it again, we would have spent more for something with a harder finish. But we got a great deal and we had limited funds at the time so I am happy with the price/ value ratio.

Bamboo flooring is great, it saves old growth forests from being logged while allowing people who like the look and function of traditional hardwood flooring a comparable alternative. One problem I have found from talking to others is that it is difficult to find someone who knows how to install them. I am sure it will come in time, however I think that process could be speed up if the manufacturers offered free clinics on installation to general contractors.
