Best Thai in SF with recycleable to-go packaging.

Basil Thai offers consistently great Thai food at reasonable prices. When you dine in the restaurant, you feel like you're in a much more "high end" restaurant than most Thai places. My favorite lunch is the crispy bean curd & cashew nut -- and they do a fantastic sticky rice with mango. I also recommend the cellophane noodles, and the corn fritter. They do good fried and fresh veggie rolls (porpia and porpia sod).

They also have put some thought into the containers for take-out orders. Owner Arun told me "Our to-go packing are totally recyclable." At lunch time for large order or a buffet style they use aluminum tray, for a smaller order or individual bento box, coated brown paper box. For dinner they use a combination of high quality recyclable, reuseable plastic container and coated brown paper.
