Excellent neighborhood grocery

Bi-Rite has everything and crams it into the tiniest store you can imagine, just next door to Delfina Restaurant. There's fresh produce, albeit a limited selection, a deli counter, packaged goods and fresh bread. The bread is delivered fresh from local bakeries -- it's right inside the door. This grocery store is a "don't miss" if you're planning to head to Dolores Park for a picnic -- just hop off BART at 16th St, zig zag your way through the neighborhood past Community Thrift if you like, and fill your picnic basket with goodies from Bi-Rite.

Great food, great selections, a little expensive

Bi-Rite is a great little grocery store and it's crazy cramped. Very high quality products. And VERY friendly people work there.

Bi-Rite is alright!

I LOVE this grocery store! Yes, it is a bit pricey, and it's crazy cramped (which just makes you closer to your neighbors), but this is where I do most of my shopping. Things I've gotten or seen there: organic and local produce (lots of samples), cheeses (more samples!), deli sandwiches, sustainably farmed meats and seafood, goat's milk yogurt, soy yogurt, Dr. Bronner's soaps, Tom's of Maine's deodorant, Bumble Bars, "raw" cashews, and quinoa and barley salads. The one thing they are lacking is lots of gluten-free crackers and such.
