Dan Buettner, author of Blue Zones has written a book and has a website dedicated to his research on longevity funded by National Geographic and the Institute on Aging. Traveling the globe, Buettner discovered valuable lessons on living longer by those that have lived the longest. His book is centered around his findings that there are nine things that all those that live long lives have in common: focusing on activities you love in an environment you want to be in; surround yourself with the right people, eat health avoiding meat, processed foods, and drink a little wine; develop a healthy outlook on life with time to enjoy peace and tranquility.
