Good Food Bad Food

I'm finally starting a Reading Group. First book: What to Eat by Marion Nestle - Paulette Goddard Professor in the Department of Nutrition, Food Studies, and Public Health...you can read the rest of her prestigious bio online. As Michael Pollan comments: this book is "absolutely indispensable."

The first chapter title speaks volumes about the rest of her book: "The Supermarket: Prime Real Estate". What to Eat is a 590-page "smack-between-the-eyes" reality check for all of us concerned or want to know more about topics such as GMO's, Organics: Hype or Hope, Irradiation, Food Politics, Dairy Substitutes, Decoding Ingredient Lists, Fish and Seafood Dilemmas, Processed, Packaged and Prepared Foods, Techno Foods, Infant Formulas, Junk Foods, Obesity, Sweeteners, Organic vs. Natural...her writing has wit and clarity; this book is anything but boring!

The What to Eat website is a continuum of Marion's writing. It is there that you can download her Reading Group Guide and read her Blog
