If you eat dairy...

this is the best ice cream out there. These guys use good ingredients and support good causes. I just wish there was a vegan (non-soy) version of Cherry Garcia - nothing beats the chunks of dark chocolate and cherries blended into a creamy frozen treat... yum.

Check out their website to read more about their values: http://www.benandjerrys.com/our_company/our_values/

Great company -- too bad about the milk. Moo.

Ice cream that makes a difference

These guys had a Green Team back in 1989 to encourage ecological education and awareness. They've been environmentally aware since the beginning. They're completely against cloned cows. Their ice cream is wonderful. Cherry Garcia has always been my favorite. Cherry ice cream with little chocolate chunks. I visited the facilities in Vermont a couple years ago and it was cool to get a tour. They recycle and use the finest ingredients that they can. They also do a lot of good for local communities. The only better option is something local to you -- in San Francisco we've got the Bi-Rite Creamery, Double Rainbow, and Laloo's, among many others, most of which are better than Ben & Jerry's. It's awesome that a company that's so green can go so mainstream.
