In April 2009, the Monitor will become the first nationally circulated newspaper to replace its daily print edition with an online publication.

The Christian Science Monitor will enhance the content on CSMonitor.com, starting weekly e-mail editions instead of the daily print format used for the past 40 years.Their mission remains the same: "journalism that seeks to bless humanity, not injure, and that shines light on the world's challenges in an effort to seek solutions...to monitor the world, to keep an eye on the world from a perspective of hope". But, technology, cost of materials and product, and consumer habits have changed. The Monitor knows it's good business and better for the environment to keep up with the times by making the big shift to the online publishing of the news. The online version with be a multipage PDF file available by email subscription and sent to our inbox Monday through Friday.
