Rating companies on their commitment to climate change
I think I heard about this website in Ode. It rates companies on how responsible they are with regard to climate change. The rating is on a 100-point scale, with three broad classifications of Stuck, Starting or Striding.
The website indicates they use 22 criteria to determine if companies have:
* MEASURED their climate "footprint"
* REDUCED their impact on global warming
* SUPPORTED (or suggest intent to block) progressive climate legislation
* Publicly DISCLOSED their climate actions clearly and comprehensively
There isn't a huge number of companies listed yet, but the information available is useful and informative.
The website also discloses a lot about Climate Counts itself: who they are, what they believe in, how they derive their ratings, etc. This is good since they are rating other companies on how well they do the same. The website clearly states that they are funded by Stonyfield Farm, Inc. and launched in collaboration with Clean Air-Cool Planet.
Some interesting ratings: Amazon.com = 0, Nike = 73, Starbucks = 46.
