The Bay Conservation and Development Commission, a state agency, is preparing to launch a $125,000 competition calling for proposals from architects, planners and engineers to "climate-proof" the San Francisco Bay Area.

We need change, we want answers, and we like contests. Put those three motivations into action and you have a race to win $10,000 for the best and brightest solutions to climate-proofing the Bay area. The Bay Conservation and Development Commission is seeking proposals from architects, engineers and planners... and hopefully anyone that's seriously interested in accepting the challenge. So, from this coming spring until the end of 2009, think tanks will be boiling and pens will be smoking, as the heat is on to come up with cool, sustainable solutions!
