Did you know that it takes as much paper to make a coffee sleeve as a cup, and it costs the merchant approximately the same amount of money to purchase a coffee sleeve as the paper cup? I have to give my sister the credit for coming up with the idea to make one of these nifty little sleeves. She saw them on Etsy, and immediately recognized the cuteness that is the coffee sweater. We put on a movie, and knitted up some rectangles with a little decrease on the bottom. Stitch up the ends and there you have it, a little re-useable coffee sleeve. I threw mine in my purse, and it barely takes up any space in there. As long as I have my purse, I don't have to take a paper sleeve. I already feel bad enough about getting my coffee in a paper cup, taking the sleeve only doubles my guilt. My sleeve was super easy to make and comes in handy all the time. I hope this is a fashion that catches on. :)

I've been griping about my collection of cardboard accessories that come with my morning cup of coffee. I griped so much that my co-worker Netty offered to create a knit version of one. (she even monogrammed it!) It's really perfect, actually. I can waste one less cardboard cozy, but I can also use it on my kleen kanteen, my glass cup at home, and I bet I could use it to pick up a hot skillet with!
It's very cute and probably easy to do yourself. Best part is, I can wear it around my wrist and act like Wonder Woman.
It's a really cool, very fashionable, and a super duper easy way to be conscious about your actions.
