The Board of Directors of the SF Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA) will vote on the Bike Plan and whether to give a green light to nearly 50 Bike Network improvement projects. We need you at this City Hall hearing to speak up in support of these Bike Network improvement projects.
Do you live, work or commute along one of the proposed routes? Stand up at the hearing and add your voice, along with other SFBC members, on this historic day. Together we can win the biggest increase of bike lanes ever seen in San Francisco. RSVP for the hearing now.
This is the big day we've been working towards and we need support at the hearing to win. We know that there will be opponents, and we want to make sure that the Board hears many more positive comments about biking. Will you do your part and be at City Hall on Friday, June 26 to speak up for bike lanes? RSVP now at sfbike.org/26rsvp so that we can track who's coming.
Day of the Hearing:
Please meet us at 8:00am outside City Hall on the Polk Street plaza (across from City Hall) and sign in at our orange tent, then head into City Hall to get a front row seat to speak up in support of specific projects. We'll provide secure valet bike parking and talking points. Please join us to be the face and voice for your bike lane.
Prepare for the Hearing:
We're hosting a special training for public comment the night before -- this Thursday from 6:00-7:00pm at SFBC HQ (995 Market Street, Suite 1550; bring your bike up). Come ask questions and get some quick tips for effective public speaking. If you cannot make this training, read our online tips for effective public comment.
This is an important opportunity to showcase the diversity of bicyclists -- we are daughters and mothers and grandfathers; we are business owners and students; we are neighbors and we all deserve a safe and dignified way to get around town. Dress to impress (professional attire recommended, not bike gear), wear a big smile and be ready to share why bike lanes are important to you and for San Francisco.
