Sure, it's not perfect but it does Work and Saves Both!

I love the concept, and I accept that this is not the best, but it's cheap and it still is so much greener than disposing 90 plastic bottles. It is a nice alternative to those in transition; from bottled-water to filter(portable) water, but reluctant to spend too much.

Because I promote this concept; Win-Win going green & save a bundle with portable filter bottle, I tested numerous filter bottles and I found the best of all - Stainless Filter Bottle. You can find it here: http://tinyurl.com/kqwyjy

I would like to hear from you, pros and cons... everything about - How We Go Green?

Thanks!

Great concept but still disposable...

The problem with disposable plastic bottles isn't just the fact that they are made out of plastic and that so many of them end up in the landfill. It is also that the bottles aren't very clean after several uses -- they aren't the healthiest thing to use. I've tried one of these corn resin bottles -- same issues mentioned by other reviewers: not easy to drink out of and not sturdy enough. The bottle will still end up in the landfill.

This bottle filters for chlorine - not for any other pests in water, so don't use it for filtering water from unpurified sources, like streams, rivers or lakes.

For my backpacking and hiking trips, I'll still rely on a Katadyne plastic bottle with a built in filter -- I know this bottle will withstand falling down some rocks and it will last a long time. As long as I can retrieve it from where it fell down the rocks.

Sometimes, you just have to go with the best option - even if it is made out of plastic - because it will last longer and require less inputs.

Great concept, not sure if i'd repurchase this product

i love that they're trying to make drinking clean water a lot easier, and more affordable than buying bottled water from who-knows-where. i've been using mine for a couple of weeks and the plastic is already having a hard time holding up to the squeezing i have to do to filter the water. i'm also completely unable to keep track of the number of times i've used it.

Filter water bottle

This water bottle is made from corn, with its own built-in filter to get rid of chlorine while you drink. The idea is grand, an instant purifier for thirsty folks on the go. My issue with this product is that while the bottle is compostable, I am not sure what becomes of the used filters. Also, it is very hard to drink out of and you have to squeeze the bottle to get water out. I wonder if the bottle would last for 90 refills if you have to squeeze it so hard that it degrades the bottle each time. Seems like a good idea that could be better designed.
