Great New Raw Restaurant
My husband and I had been to Cousin's once before it went raw ( I think it was Turkish at that time... some vegetarian options but mainly catered to carnivores ). When we found out it went raw, we had to try it.
We have been twice now since it turned raw. The first time, we had four appetizers, soup, and dessert. Everything was delicious. The appetizers were appealing to the eye, very tasty, and interesting. The 'cheesecake' was awesome! And the clove tea they serve after the meal is just perfect. The second time we went, we tried the all-you-can-eat buffet. The price was so reasonable at $12.00. When we had the buffet, it was mainly salads. We ended up agreeing that the regular menu food was better and more diverse. But none-the-less, the meal tasted good, was filling, and did not leave us feeling heavy or bloated afterwards. The 'cheesecake' is not as good as Chicago Diner's raw 'cheesecake', but it is still very good!

A raw delight!
This place offers a great raw bar with all-you-can eat deals as well as a small menu of other raw options. Their burrito was fantastic, and I highly suggest any of their chocolate drinks. Yummy! The reason this place really shines, though, is because of the classes and workshops it offers on raw food and cleansing.

Cousins Incredible
The decor is great. I am a rawfoodist and I find the food disappointing. The stuff on the salad bar all tastes like it has the same dressing and the food on the salad bar mostly tastes the same.
I come in from Oak Park periodically for business and have stopped at Cousins everytime since it is so close to my business contact. Everytime I come I am amazed at the very bad service. The owner needs to spend more time training his waiters and waitresses. The food usually is very disappointing. I suspect that the owner does not supervise the running of the restaurant.
The mark-up on the shelf products are 40% higher than the same item sells for at Whole Foods and other rawfood restaurants. Does the owner think that Chicagoans are stupid and don't compare prices? A little bit of a higher markup is understandabe but a 40% markup is ridiculous!
I suggest that the owner make price comparisons with his competition and adjust his shelf prices accordingly.

I've never had anything quite like this, but...
I am not a vegan, I had never been to a "raw" foods restaurant, and imagined it to be pretty bland and boring, but Cousin's was wonderful, the food was delicious and really unique, and beautiful! My vegetable lasagna was a piece of art!

Cousin's Incredible
I am a non vegetarian who supports healthy eating and healthy living, but have never been brave enough to try a raw food cleanse or even just a truly raw food dining experience.
Complete, total, delicious satiation was my final state of bliss after 3 trips to the buffet line. I had no idea raw food could be so creative, so varied in textures, tastes, and concoctions, that I never felt I was missing anything out of my typical dining experience.
It's one of those things that you "have to try it once." Ha ha... just once... yeah right!

cousin's incredible is tasty
For a variety of tasty raw food delectables, I recommend Cousin's Incredible. I especially enjoy the all-you-can eat bar. I've introduced this restaurant to a number of my non-raw vegan friends who have been surprised by how much they liked the entrees.

Great Raw Food Restaurant
All organic, raw, living food restaurant. Great value all you can eat salad bar. Nice selections of raw food products, books, etc.
