NO moderation-warning

I posted personal ads several times and each time the same troll spammed my email address and posted the same insults to me on their personal ad page, all this despite my reporting all of it.  Then one time I reported it I got the same, curious, reply "Thank you for your report.  That post was removed."..how could this be I thought, "that post" which this reply said was removed was MINE, because I had sent a report that said "See my ad here?  Watch this troll post insults to me and then flag it repeatedly till its removed."..they have their computer programmed to take keywords form your reports, like the post I.D. # and then remove it and send that same reply "Thank you for your report.  That post was removed.", obviously sending me THIS particluar reply saying "That post was removed" means NO LIVE PERSON read my report, hence they would've known I WASNT reporting a post to remove, but pointing out something else entirely!!  Hence, this is how come I found the place it NOT moderated...when people report someone, the computer has been programmed to look in the report for keywords, like the subject which on this site is "911" and "post I.D.", so the computer will automatically delete that post and send that same auto reply.

With no moderation any place, no wonder criagslist long time users keep saying the place is over run with scams, spammers, and trollers.  Now, I can see WHY.

And this isnt only the personals section, I've read their feedback and help forums, this is going on all over the site.

I'd tend to think any positive reviews of this site are spammers posting or people from craigslist trying to promote their own site, since it's clearly NOT the publics opinions.

I forgot to mention, on a recent FoxNews report, someone from craigslist was interviewed on why there are so many prostitutes openly posting ads in the escort services section, he said, "We dont review anything.  Theres too much of  it".  So, this is his ADMITTING theres NO MODERATION of this sit

Craigslist is the uber-green lifestyle tool!

I've been using craigslist since it was an e-mail list -- long gone are the days when you could store boolean searches and have only certain types of new posts sent to you but the concept still works. Craigslist is the only place I use in apartment searches, and it is a primary location for job searches.

Anytime I want to find something cheap - I look here. I got great climbing gear (new!) off Craigslist. My boyfriend sold his car in less than 24 hours on Craigslist!

Sometimes, the folks on Craigslist can be flaky -- in fact, it's a notorious problem. People call and express interest but never show up.

For a good laugh, check out the "Best of" or just browse the personals. It's a scary place, I warn you.

Craigslist

I've gotten my last three jobs after posting my resume on Craigslist. I've sold stuff, and bought stuff. I love craigslist.

employment, dating, apartments.... the most important things in life!

i've been using craiglist since it was the "listfoundation" and only in the bay area... (i'm O.G). every apartment, motorcycle, and job i've had, along with basically anything else you can dream up has been found on craigslist. i read the missed connections all the time (i've found postings looking for me!), and the rants and community board is extremely useful. craig newmark is also putting a lot into the community as well as trying to regular net neutrality. good times, good times.

Sustainability through biomimicry

Craigslist enables massive "cradle-to-cradle", aka "zero waste" living. Plus, it's ad-free, fast, ubiquitous, and has that "random" magic.

I've gotten a few of these from C-list: furniture, technojunk, car, jobs, roommates, small-biz sales channel support, new hires. i don't surf missed connections and wonder if i've missed anything!

Craigslist is a great way to keep 'sustainable.' Buying used couches/tables/chairs/tvs/electronics/cars, etc. is one of the best ways to 'recycle' and reduce the amount of garbage we put out there.

They also have a free section, which ties into the whole 'freecycle' concept.

Craigslist rocks!

We have found our new apt, new jobs, and pretty much everything in our apt. on Craig's List.

It is the best way to get rid of things that would otherwise go to the landfill! :)
