The CRW, yet another brilliant program by the Resource Center is in search of a new home. But the CRW is currently run out of the Resource Center address on the far south side. Business and industry donations of what is otherwise considered 'waste' is made available for reuse to teachers, artists and the pubic. It's a win-win situation for donors, as they can receive a tax deduction while supporting a nonprofit. Schools, community centers, theaters and museums have all received supplies. When the CRW was located off Maxwell street before UIC took over, I sourced many materials there for my college projects. They had tons of papers of all colors and formats, as well as scrap woods and odd plastic mystery shapes. This is recycling at it's best, taking waste and putting it in the hands of people who really need it and can reuse it, who otherwise cannot afford supplies.
