This chocolate tastes amazingly deep and lush, and you actually feel good eating it -- in more ways than one. The chief reason being great taste; second, it's certified fair trade. Third, it's organic! Triple bottom line wins right here. I say "dirt" because it's earthy, and slightly dark.

Scrumdiddillyumptious. Hershey has nothing on this sweet little treat. Not what i expected from a dark chocolate, but a nice surprise nonetheless.

This chocolate is soft and creamy. I'm not much of a dark chocolate person, so the 55% blend of this stuff is just right for me.

This chocolate seems to get around at all sort of Green events in little bite-size, individually wrapped nuggets. I am a chocolate fiend, and so I always grab a few from the bowl to fight of that afternoon nap urge. If you like medium-dark chocolate, this is for you. It is yummy and doesn't contain soy lechitin. If you are a dark chocolate lover, however, this chocolate may strike you as a bit too sweet and not dark enough. I'll eat it in a bind, but it is one of the "lighter" organic dark chocolates available. Now I'll have to try the Very Dark by Equal Exchange and see how that measures up.

Really nice stuff! I work at Whole Foods and have taken it upon myself to try almost all the chocolate we sell, and then some. There's better stuff out there (if you want to pay more than twice as much per bar), but for around $3 a bar, it's responsibly-produced quality. Give it a try and see for yourself!!

Our family loves chocolate, but one of our children has food allergies/sensitivities which includes soy.
Soy and its by-products have crept into most all facets of food in the US; cereal, bread, baked goods, and chocolate. Even many organic brands encorporate soy in the form of lecithin, which is an emulsifier and antioxidant.
In my search to find an excellent chocolate, with out lecithin of any form, I found Equal Exchange Organic Very Dark Chocolate bars. The enormous bonus of this company is not only are the chocolate bars organic, but they also use fairly traded cocoa, supporting the families that grow the cocoa. Such a wonderful combination is hard to find.
