You'll never look at dinner the same way.

Food, Inc., a documentary film by Robert Kenner. Cast: Michael Pollan and Eric Schlosser.

Plot: An unflattering look inside America's corporate controlled food industry.

There is a curtain that has been dropped between the consumer and where our food comes from. The industry does not what us to know the truth about the food we eat. If we did, we probably would not eat it. They don't want this story told:

I just saw this exceptional documentary at our local theater. The audience was primarily made up of people much like me, who have made huge dietary changes and radically altered consumer habits over the past number of years. The folks that really need to see this film for the most part weren't there. As much as I thought I already knew quite a lot about the insidious manipulation, corruption and control of our food by corporate powers and the mergers going on behind the scenes, I learned a whole lot more. This film further unveils the outrageous greed and the almighty-dollar-push for efficiency at all costs, which not only causes the pain and suffering of farm animals, but are decisions being made knowingly at the expense of human life. This is a film that you need to see again, each time inviting people to go with you that need to have their eyes and ears open to what is really going on in the food industry and to find out where our food is really coming from. I hope you will find it as disturbing as I did. One young woman next to us was deeply affected by the content, visibly shaken, and frequently on the verge of tears. The young boy sitting behind us left the theater telling his parents "I will NEVER eat at a fast food restaurant again!" As the credits rolled by the audience spontaneously erupted with applause.
