This stuff really works, if you use it right!
I had a very slow drain-- not fully clogged, but very slow-- in a bathroom sink. Tried other products first (the roto-rooter recommended enzyme) and didn't work at all. Before bringing the plumber in, decided to try Drainbo. Just to give it a fair chance, I used MUCH more than recommended-- I think -3 cups of drainbo in 3 quarts of warm water. I did follow instructions, and let it sit 15 minutes to "activate" the microbes. Poured it down the drain, and let it sit overnight. In the morning, boiled up a huge pot of water for the morning-after flush. Poured several gallons of BOILING water down the drain. The drain sort of hiccuped and cleared!! Kept running the hottest water possible for several minutes, just to clean things out. It was fantastic. Did it one more night, just to be sure to process everything, and the drain is now running just like it did when first installed!
I think the key is to use enough of this stuff to give the microbes a chance, and to make the morning flush long and very very hot. I will keep some of this on hand all the time, just as insurance. I think this was 7 or 8 bucks at Whole Foods, and since it works, that is reasonable. I am VERY VERY happy with how this worked!
I Wish This Product Worked!
This product seems like a great idea. It uses natural microbes to eat away gunk in your drains. Cool. It smells like fragrant flowers. Ahhh. But can it clear a drain for me? Sadly, the answer is not yet. I've tried it on two separate occasions and it has failed miserably both times. Perhaps it might be good for maintaining a drain once it has been cleared, but I can't say that it seems to effective on clogged drains. I'd love to hear a success story if there's one out there!
it works alright
Drainbo works fairly well -- still, it doesn't do the job of its more unnatural counterparts, which I refuse to buy anyway, since they go directly into the groundwater. It's got microbes that supposedly digest buildup and help you keep in place your drainage, maintenance-wise. The name cracks me up. The price is pretty good and it's non-GMO.

Get your pipes clean!
This stuff is easy and cleans you pipes. It is biodegradable. It's nice to know that unclogging drains and maintaining the 'health' of your pipes and drains can be done in a green way. If you've been using bleach to do this, try this product, you'll love it!
