Much safer than the mainstream alternatives

Like other enzymatic drain openers, you're supposed to used Earth Enzymes to maintain your drain so that it doesn't get clogged in the first place. I'm not that organized, though! I've used it for unclogging a shower drain and a sink drain. Neither was fully clogged -- water was still flowing, but not much. Earth Enzymes improved drainage, and improvement was better if I did multiple treatments over time. I ended up needing to clean out both drains manually to get long term benefits, though.

It's not a miracle worker, but the chemicals in regular drain cleaners (Draino, Liquid-Plumr) are poisonous and toxic. Snakes, plungers, and air pressure devices are other alternatives safer than mainstream drain cleaners.

Better for maintenance

...than in an emergency situation, when your tub has 12" of standing water and no amount of vinegar, baking soda or boiling water and plunging has done the trick. I've used this product before and it does work, when I plunge I can see the green bacteria chunks coming out of the drain. But when the drain is so slow or totally clogged best to try one of the other options on this site. Tonight I am going to try the compressed air solution and a drain snake and hope our tub will empty! It's not always easy to remember to maintain your drains with good bacteria, but one we should all get used to doing, so we can keep the toxic chemicals out of our waterways!

Earth Friendly Products - Earth Enzymes

This product is like a drain cleaner / declogger but its sooo much better and less harsh for the environment than say liquid drano. This is made using natural enzymes and bacterias that release and activate when they are used. and it does work..
