Eat Organic Dried Pineapple

by Haru K.

If you like dried fruits, you gotta give these rings a try

I bought a bag full from the bulk containers at the natural food store the other day because it was on sale and smelled pretty good. They're really good! I highly recommend these organic dried pineapple rings - like half the price of the organic dried apricots and just as good. The texture is different, more dry, but the flavor is really rich and just thinking about it makes my mouth water. And it's healthy! Great snack to replace my sourpatch kids. :)

Dried pineapple - better than candy!

Not all dried pineapple are made the same -- organic dried pineapple is made sulphur dioxide. It doesn't look nearly as pretty as conventionally dried non-organic pineapple (which often has additional sugar).

Sulphur Dioxide is used to speed the preservation process and preserve the color and appearance of the fruit. There are concerns about people with allergies. The use of sulphur dioxide is prohibited in organic dried fruit production.

Dried pineapple tastes like candy - it's so delicious and it's nutritious. Pineapple contains bromelain and helps with digestion and is also known to be an anti-inflammatory. Pineapple is low in calories and contains potassium (important for muscles), calcium (for strong bones) and vitamin C and B1 (for supporting the immune system).
