I bought the Eco Deck on line at Green Foot Forward. It's fun and informative. A great way to play cards and learn something about the environment at the same time

We need the earth, the earth does not need us. I bought the Eco Deck in New York. The Eco Deck has helped me learn and become more aware of how I can lower my carbon footsteps everyday. Greenfootforward.com has a great mission statement, "being green is everybody's job."
Chloe's keywords: living green
great idea to foster people to think green and provide them with interesting facts about how to manage being green. Could be a great tool for companies to advertise!

My daughter and I played cards the other day with Eco Deck. We both learned a load of eco facts from the cards. The questions and answers are written in a way that lets you read them whichever way you're holding your cards and still play your card game without interference. In truth though, we created our own eco game by asking each other questions and seeing who had the biggest pile at the end of the game. I'm going to buy more Eco Decks and send them to my family...they could use a little greening.
Did you know that silicon extracted from one ton of sand used in making solar cells will produce as much electricity as burning 500,000 tons of coal? I didn't. Did you know that the amount of water on earth hasn't changed from the day the earth was formed? Nope, I didn't either. What about how much of the earth's surface is used for growing food? I didn't have a clue. The answer is 11%. After playing a hand of Gin or Bridge with Eco Deck, I suddenly knew a lot more about the environment and what to do about improving it. Eco facts won't change anything, but turning down the air conditioning when I leave the house or a light when I walk out of a room will save electricity and a few bucks. Go figure -- fun and smarts -- all from a deck of cards.
