True Pleasure in the Shower

If SustainLane let me put more than one "guilty green pleasure" on my profile, long, hot showers would be my second. I have a very loving relationship with my shower, but I can't help feeling guilty (and rightly so) when I get out of an extremely pleasurable hot shower and realize I spent 20 minutes in there! Where does the time go anyway?

Well now I have, while not a solution, at least a little bit of help. The shower head my apartment came with was starting to spurt water all over the bathroom, and i finally decided it was time to upgrade to my own. So I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to find a showerhead that was hand held, would not compromise too much on water pressure, and was still eco friendly. This showerhead is perfect! It is hand held, and is low flow although it is practically impossible to tell. The 5 different massage settings ensure that i can always find exactly the amount of pressure I want for whatever part of the body i am cleaning at the moment.

Then comes the kicker. Whenever I soap up, I am wasting water. In the past, I had two options:

1 - I could turn off the shower, and hope that when i turned it back on it was at the exact temperature i needed, rather than a hair to the right or to the le3ft which in my shower is the difference between freezing and scalding.

or

2 - I could just deal with it.

Thanks to my new showerhead, I now have an option 3. There is a switch at the neck of the showerhead that lets me turn the water pressure down to a trickle while i lather. Not only does this save water and help keep me from scalding myself, but the trickle of water also lets me use a little water if i need it to re-lather my loofa or wash some soap out of my eyes etc.
