my first trip to costa rica

Ecology Project International is an organization that takes middle and high school kids to places like Costa Rica, Montana, and the Galapagos to learn about, and help, different species. I went to Costa Rica to save Leatherback sea turtles. This was an amazing experience, in which twenty or so people from my high school flew down for two weeks. We learned about the Leatherbacks and went out each night from eleven to three am, walking the beach, looking for birthing mothers. They looked like big black ambiguous shapes in the sand. We'd count the eggs as they were dropped down into the nests. We wrote down each turtle's tag number to track them later on, and we relocated nests to safer places on the beach. Ecology Project International is a great business because they... are just fantastic. They taught us how to live more greenly, things like the benefits of solar power, planting native tree species in our areas, driving less... etc. I recommend that people look them up.
