Address map 1 Ferry BuildingI love this farmers market. It's good on Tuesdays (not to crowded, still a great selection of produce) but it is AWESOME on Saturdays. So many foods to choose from. Incredible cheese stands, tons of local fruits for really decent prices, plus meats and fresh sauces and hummuses that you absolutely can't find anywhere else. I do as much shopping for the week as i can fit in my backpack for the bike ride back home.

It's true - just look around. Most of these people are making a trip out of the office to buy fresh veggies and fruits to take back to work for eating during the week at the office and at home. This is a great break from the office any time of year, but especially when the weather cooperates.
The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market always seems a bit more pricey than other farmers markets to me -- but it's worth it to get all the great organic produce so close to work.

organic cherries, peaches, strawberries, mint, nuts, dried fruits, red leaf lettuce, spring onions, english selling peas, green garlic, 100% grass fed beef, acme bread, freshly shucked oysters from the bay, cow girl creamery cheese... the incredible list of fresh organic, local and seasonal delights goes on and on. I got there early this Saturday felt really spoiled with all the yummy samples - the perfectly healthy and free breakfast! I love coming here to start my weekend and plan out my meals which I tend to eat out during the week.
