Too Many Figs & NO ROOM

The container holding your product is packed to tight, the figs all stick together in rows of 6 units and are a massarce to get out ouf the container. My suggestion is they should be in a larger container probably about 1/8 of an inch wider. Or reduce the number of figs to five in a row instead of six. Another suggestion would br change the plastic container to a bag or ziploc type bag for air tightness/freshness.

If you continue to use this packaging your customers will be discouraged and sales will decrease. I feel as though this needs to be addressed immediately to increase your sales on a return buyer. Please take my suggestions serious as you have a brand name that is very reputable and you don't want to tarnish the reputation.

Thank you a concerned and honest consumer.

Best fig cookie ever!

Fig Newmans are soft, tender, velvety and have a really tasty, genuinely figgy center. The cookie part is very tasty and even crumbles a bit. These are way better than the old "fig newtons" both on flavor, texture and community-support. Get in the habit of purchasing Newman products for the sake of our community - that's one company that demonstrates how much they care about the food they create and the world.

Wheat-Free Does Not Mean Gluten-Free

I wondered all afternoon and during dinner why I was having symptoms of a gluten-intolerance reaction. Let's see...I fixed Bob's Red Mill Pancakes for breakfast; no gluten there. I skipped lunch, but nibbled on some popcorn on the long drive home from Bend. It wasn't until this evening, as I ate another Fig Newmans after dinner, that I remembered snacking on several Fig Newmans during a slide presentation during the afternoon. Ah, Ha...but wait, aren't Fig Newmans wheat and dairy free?, I asked myself. Yes, they are! But, I was in such distress, I reread the ingredients listed on the back of the package. Fig Newmans contain organic barley flour. Barley flour is listed as the first ingredient. Sheesh...right on the back, just below the ingredients, in all caps, it reads: "NOT A GLUTEN FREE PRODUCT". I turned the package over and looked at the front again...right there, right above "Fig Newmans" is clearly states: "Wheat-Free, Dairy-Free - NOT a Gluten-Free Product". Clearly, there are times when I fail to register that wheat-free does not necessarily mean gluten-free...even when the warning is hidden in plain sight.

As far as Fig Newtons go, Fig Newmans, made with organic figs, are a healthy alternative for those that have wheat and dairy allergies. The flavor and texture are nearly identical, although I thought the baked flour exterior of the cookie was a tad bit dry.

Good stuff!

These wheat and dairy free fig Newmans are tasty! The "cookie" part of it was drier than a traditional one, but it did not compromise the flavor or the overall treat. Definitely a great choice if you want to steer clear of dairy.

they are what they are

These are the best wheat and dairy free cookies I have ever had. For being free of the "good stuff" (good tasting stuff, anyway), they were amazingly yummy. I'd almost wager that you could do a blind taste test and no one would know the difference between these and the traditional Fig Newtons!

when's the last time you had a Fig Newton?

Newman's version of a Fig Newton blows everything else out of the water. The ingredients are organic. The cookies are just the right balance of moist and chewy and sweet. And the proceeds go to tons of charities worldwide, since Newman's Own is a nonprofit that gives back. These are dairy free and wheat-free, but they sure don't taste like it. Be wary, though, because you'll plow through a box of these puppies in no time at all.
