Inconvenient Truth, was truly an inconvenient truth that many weren't ready to hear nor ready to embrace. I think Gore's documentary and lecture series created a paradigm sift in our thinking about an environmental crisis of global proportions. It certainly impacted me. I vote for Inconvenient Truth: http://www.sustainlane.com/reviews/an-inconvenient-truth/YSHAW7AZAPR2SBV7NSCC7A9NYWOR.

Yes, Inconvenient Truth . . . and we owe the Academy Awards and the print media for making it cool to see this movie.

I'm inclined to vote for Wall.E simply b/c it's designed for the next generation. Children really are the future, and if we can get more of them to expect and demand a greener world, then we might just actually change things. And for anybody with kids, Horton Hears a Who is also an excellent movie to teach kids about the bigger picture, we are all connected. But with as much grief as Al Gore has received for his own carbon footprint, the man still made an excellent film that I think everyone should see. The reality is though, that many people simply won't watch it, or will watch it but will read some conservative editorial and believe all the information in the film was biased, exaggerated and untruthful. Kids movies on the other hand they will take their kids to see and maybe, hopefully will make a light come on in the back of there subconscious minds to make some greener choices. Kids are greatly influenced by peer pressure and have the capability to ecourage their parents to do things differently. This is why educating them, getting recycling programs in schools and public places and educating them through entertainment; together they will create a new green way of life.

ITruth is my vote because most people are always not going to see a forward-thinking film. But thought leaders have seen this film, and acted on it. For them, this definitely helped in a way that 11th Hour has (unfortunately) been unable to. The fact that a former VP leads it, lends some credibility.

Easy to get suspicious though of the motives of "people at the top..." and I don't blame people who are. Except for Rush Limbaugh, he needs to get on board, but then he wouldn't make any money...

Koyaanisqatsi all the way! Gives you a brand new way of looking at the world. In terms of mass appeal though, I think ITruth is probably the answer.

An Inconvenient Truth. Al gets you there as a captive audience and keeps dumping more data on you till you can't move. He thoroughly educated me on the the problems. There's always more to know, of course...

I think An Inconvenient Truth was the most targeted toward changing people's viewpoints and it seems to have been successful.

I think Planet Earth did a great job of getting people to show some love for the planet, and I'm guessing love is what would make someone want to go hug a tree. What really makes the series incredible is that it dramatized biology and made it super interesting. Don't get me wrong, PBS and National Geographic specials are good shows, but they lack a certain oomph to them and have bored many a student to sleep. Who would've thought that time lapse video could do so much?
