I recently read a story about a Boulder woman who sought to bring awareness to breast cancer by "staining" her poodle pink. While many Colorodans are enviro-savvy, especially in Boulder , this story seemed out of character for a state that touts its natural beauty everywhere. But, wait! There's more!
While the woman did turn her dog pink, she did it by "staining" her poodle with beet juice. It's still odd, but at least she used natural products to do so.
Dr. Pitcairn's New Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats won't tell you how to stain your poodle pink, but the book will give you some other cool ideas for natural pet health care:
- Make sure the toys you give your pet are safe for biting and chewing. Some of the best toys are those made of leather, rawhide, and similar natural materials. Another word of caution: Don't leave your animal alone with a ball of yarn or string.
