Thou Shall Not Flock...Unless

I know my review title is a bit irreverent, but I see it got your attention! Commercial flocking material is not a recyclable product, nor commercially flocked trees, as they have to go into the trash, which is not an eco-friendly solution. Flocking is bad for pets, especially birds. Flocking is typically made from wood cellulose, water, spray adhesive and fire retardant. My mother usually bought a flocked Christmas tree during the '60's. I often got a respiratory infection around the holidays. Rather suspect!

For Eco-Friendly recipes go to Thrifty Fun's page about homemade tree flocking: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf43729864.tip.html. The solutions are simple: like soap flakes...if you don't mind your house smelling like soap rather than pear, bayberry or frankincense during the 12 days of Christmas.
