Fresh Air - "In a open letter to the next president, author Michael Pollan writes about the waning health of America's food systems — and warns that "the era of cheap and abundant food appears to be drawing to a close."

Pollan takes issue with the Federal food policy controlling food prices and food quality and lack of diversity of crops due to the increase of mono-agriculture, over production of certain crops like corn and soy, nutrient depletion, and the industrialization of agriculture. He encourages us to resolarize the American farm, both small and large, distancing ourselves from dependence on fossil fuels in the food system, and eat solar-based, pesticide-free crop varieties and grass fed livestock from local farmers. Older folks may vaguely remember the way it used to be long, long ago on a planet our great grandparents used to know.

Community Supported Agriculture.

Beyond Corporate Organic, and ignore national politicians. This will only happen at the local level.
