FLICKING GOOD Fruit Bars - at Long's Drugs

You'd be surprised what's in a 24-hour, kilowatt-wasting Long's Drugs super-store. I've not been stumped yet, except that they've stopped carrying Inari skins, for making inarizushi. (shoot!)

Back to the topic at hand, I LOVE The Food Mill's fruit bars!! I've had ginger, honey, date nut, and can't get enough! Locally made (if you're in Oakland or nearby), ingredients are clearly listed, no marketing gimmicks (or marketing period!).

Ingredients of a typical bag of bars: organic whole wheat flour, brown sugar, honey, raisins, molasses, unbleached flour, fresh eggs, non GMO canola oil, baking soda, cinnamon. I know what each of these is, and its purpose, unlike high fructose corn syrup, niacin, thiamin mononitrate, calcium propionate, monoglycerides, artificial flavor, xanthan gum, sucralose, natamycin (actually parts of Thomas' english muffins--I couldn't find a single muffin at Safeway which doesn't have corn syrup and some share of the above unpronouncable stew).
