Diapers, a hot button issue among eco-minded parents. Cloth? Disposables? How about a new, middle way: flushing baby's waste the same place as the rest of the family?
gDiapers are flushable inserts fit into adorable cotton g-pants. The inserts are absorbant and, with a practiced bit of tearing and swishing, flush down the toilet. Or the wet ones can be composted; they biodegrade completely in about a month! No diaper pail, no overflowing trashcan. The g-pants don't have to be washed every time, as usually only the insert gets messy. The pants have a waterproof nylon liner which can be removed quickly and easily for a quick wash in the sink when an inevitable "blow out" happens. When the time for washing does come, toss the pants and liner into the laundry.
But the real question is, how well do they work? I've been using them for over a year, and love them! They leak less than the disposables or cloth diapers I used with my first child. As testament to how much so, consider that I don't carry a spare outfit for baby in my purse! With my first child, it was a regular event to have change not just the diaper, but the rest of the clothes too. Now, the diaper always contains everything, everytime! And I like how flexible they are for different situations: use a flushable g, or a cloth insert, or at night add a second flushable for a heavy wetter. I use flushables while out, and at daycare, flushing them when convenient, or disposing of them in the trash when the situation dictates. At home, we use cloth inserts in the same g-pants.
Gâs are available in stores and online from several retailers, some of whom offer free shipping. As with almost anything with babies, there is a learning curve, but the customer service for the company is amazingly quick and responsive.
Change your baby AND change the world... from the bottom up! No landfill required.

These are awesome. We use Fuzzy Buns (pocket nappies) mostly, but when they are in the wash I use the gDiapers. I really like that they are not very bulky. My only qualm is that when the poop is not solid it can get a bit messy (but it always does, even with the fuzzy buns). The inner lining is easy to snap out and rinse, and it is nice that they provided 2 liners for each cover. I like the design with the velcro in the back too, as well as the nice color selection.

I was lucky enough to find gDiapers as soon as they landed on the shelf of my PDX New Seasons, fresh in the United States. I was so excited about the thought of a third option in diapering that i immediately snatched them up. It does take a bit of getting used to and sometimes old pipes are a little rough when trying to get the system down but the inserts are also compostable so that really isn't an excuse, right? The staff is really helpful and very kind. If you have questions or are having trouble I would definitely say contact the folks at gHQ. They have an answer for you.

I do love our g diapers but it did take some practice to get the flushing down. I think they are cute for the summer but sometimes find them a bit bulky under clothes (although the new ones are suppose to be less bulky) and I've emailed the company about three times with questions since I've been using them and not once have I received a reply. Must just be me because everyone else I encounter has had good experiences receiving a response. I do love g diapers though. They are so cute and I love that they don't take 500 years to decompose! Does anyone know what cloth inserts you can use with them??? Help would be appriciate :) Thanks

I LOVE gdiapers but not the flushable portion. I've been using a prefold in the center or sewing my own soaker pads for the insert and I love them. Flushable part, not so much, but a couple of gdiapers and a dozen or so cloth inserts and you're golden. It makes the whole endeavor more affordable too. WAY cheaper than disposables and at about 10 bucks a diaper cheaper than most cloth systems too.

I found gdiapers much more difficult than our cloth diapers. They leaked much worse than cloth and clogged our toilet with every diaper flushed. But I just read all of these raving reviews so maybe I should give them another try. I have had great success with cloth diapers but would like an alternative when traveling and while at grandparents houses.

gDiapers are a great idea, but in our old house they caused a serious toilet blockage, even following flushing directions. If we throw away the outer part of the liner and just flush the filling and the waste it works OK, but that's a lot more work. If we had the money and the pipes, this would be all we'd use.

I don't think I could've dreamed-up a better diaper. I don't have to do laundry all day AND I my son hasn't begun his life leaving a plastic impression on the earth.
g's are reliable, easy for travel and VERY cute on my son's bum. Also--we've never had a clogged toilet while following the simple flushing guidelines.
Yes, I do believe they are more expensive than disposables, but if a simple, eco-friendly diaper is what you seek, 'g's' are worth every penny.

I am so happy that gDiapers are here and it's all I use on my baby. I feel sickened by the thought of disposable diapers and cringe when I walk past them in the store. I love that my baby's butt can breathe, be rash free, look cute, and not pollute! I love that we have no diaper pail and our house doesn't stink because of it. Most of all I love knowing that with all her diaper changes, none of it is going into landfills and her waste is flushed away to where it belongs. I dream of the day we'll say, "Yeah, they used to put plastic in diapers, can you believe it? How crazy is that?"

We love gdiapers, they are cute, good for the environment, comfy for our baby, and easy to use. Does it get any better than that? We have used them on our 10 month old since he was 3 months old. The gteam is also *fantastic* they have the BEST customer service I have ever encountered!

Seeing the stats about disposable diapers is sickening and cloth diapers are not that conveinent for a mobile family. gDiapers hit the sweet spot with a product that you can wash (the outside) and an insert that biodegrades in a short period. Their customer service has been great and we look forward to using these on our next child.

I found gDiapers on the bottom shelf of my local Whole Foods, and promptly sat down in the middle of the aisle to check it out. We had been looking for something alternative to disposables, since we found out that there was no landfill space left in Illinois and that our trash was being hauled all the way to Wisconsin! Anyway, these are great - we use them along with cloth diapers (which fit nicely in the inserts) - and when we are out and about, they work just as well as regular disposables. The best part is that you can flush them! And, even if you are a little squeamish at first, you can put them in the trash with no guilt. As there is no plastic in them at all, they will biodegrade!
Having a baby is messy, but the responsibility is amazing - I am glad that I found these because now I fell as though, even when I'm doing the messy stuff, I am helping to make the world a cleaner place

I really liked the product, but as a single parent making minimum wage it is difficult to purchase them.

My son turned 10 months old and I decided to give cloth diapers a try - the choices were overwhelming, but a few sampler packs later I was giving it a go and generally happy with my decision, but talking my husband into it and doing laundry were problems. Then I discovered "gDiapers . Starter pack is ideal to give it a try, and I LOVE these diapers! They are as easy as disposables to use and there's no big back-up of laundry. My husband tends to get the "poopy" ones which can be messy, so I haven't converted him completely, but the covers hold the mess in. The liners will stain some, but I'm okay with that. I have an older home with toilets I wasn't sure could handle the flushability - but they do fine - I stir the middle part well, and hold onto the outer layer until most has gone down and haven't had any problems. The covers are VERY cute. Even a wriggly baby (now 16 months) can hold still enough for the backwards closing velcro which I initially was leery of - but holding up well.

What a great idea for a diaper. As our kids become parents and I see the environmental waste of disposable diapers, but the inconvenience of cloth kept us in disposables. this product offers a terrific choice, making it convenient for home and travel and even with the option of composting. I am giving it as a gift for a friend's first grandchild.

Better for my baby (no more diaper rash!), better for our amazing planet (no more landfill guilt!) and cute to boot. My family and I are big big fans of gDiapers. I've never really been able to wrap my mind around the fact that our beautiful children enter this world, we love them, we nurture them and we try our darndest to create a happy life for them, and at the same time we put their bottoms in plastic diapers that ultimately end up slow-rotting in a landfill that their generation will have to deal with! So I offer a big kudos to gDiapers. The logic of this innovation is fantastic. No matter what anyone else tells you, gDiapers is THE ONLY diaper that goes back to the earth (it's cradle to cradle!). All the other "eco" disposables have plastic. Yup. Even the brown ones.
