Not intended to treat, diagnose, cure...

Being celiac, I was curious to check this out. I've watched friends swallow a Lactaid before they eat ice cream and wondered whether there would ever be an equivalent product for gluten.

My personal research indicates that GlutenEase might assist in the digestion of gliadin peptides, and that some celiacs find it can relieve digestive symptoms if they accidentally ingest gluten. It has not - repeat NOT - been proven to be effective enough to allow a person with celiac to digest gluten. There is still no substitute for a gluten free diet.

Repeat: There is still no substitute for a gluten free diet.

Products like this leave me with very mixed feelings. Yes, it would be helpful to have something I could use to limit the damage if I accidentally eat gluten, emphasis on "limit" because the real, long-term intestinal damage is still going to occur. But GlutenEase is labeled and advertised almost as a cure for celiacs, which it most certainly is not.

Read the label, do some research, learn what this is and what it isn't before you take it.

Just in Case(in), Use GlutenEase - a Casein and Gluten Digestive Aid

I keep GlutenEase in my bag, just in case(in) I find myself in an unavoidable situation, only offered foods that have casein or gluten in the ingredients. I take one or two with the meal. For me, I use it to help reduce potential acid reflux, stomach and intestinal inflammation, and to better absorb proteins and nutrients. Vegetarians or vegans can use it, because GlutenEase is plant based. This supplement contains NO added fillers, preservative, wheat, soy, yeast, dairy, nuts, salt, sugars, or artificial colors and flavorings. One botte has 60 capsules, so it lasts quite a while, if you are making a conserted effort to avoid as many "bothersome" foods as possible that contain gluten and/or casein.
