Particles of Rainbow Dust

This hour-long, single recording of Tibetan singing bowls is totally enchanting and top-notch music, truly -- I am absolutely in love with it and cherish it among some of my favorite records. Forget about New Age mumbo-jumbo. This is right up there with Miles Davis and Hamza El Din for me.

I love listening to it when I need to calm down, like for a work break or during a quiet, restful period at home. It puts me into a trance. I also like to walk around the city of San Francisco listening to it -- it seems to slow down time.

And I swear that it fine-tunes my hearing.

My wife turned me on to it, as she was a yoga teacher for five years in St. Louis, and one of her yoga teachers used it a lot.

Karma Moffett lives in San Francisco. Here's what he has to say about this 1995 masterpiece, "Golden Bowls":

"The tones from these bowls are designed to penetrate the particles of rainbow dust which hold together this impermanent illusion."

Now that's pretty cool
