So far it have work with strawberries, rasberries, grapes, lettuce, sparagus etc... But bananas. The bananas goes brown the next day I put them on these bags. I tried again and same thing. So far it does work with soem fruits, but for some reasons bananas goes really bad faster than normal.
I have to agree with Caroline ... I bought Green Bags specifically for bananas and that has proven to be a huge mistake. I use a lot of bananas and was hoping these bags would solve the problem of them going overly ripe too quick. I put the bananas in the bag, folded it over according to the directions and watched for any build-up of condensation and would wipe the inside of the bag dry when I saw any moisture. Trouble is ... wherever the bag touches any of the bananas, the skin turns black and wherever the skin is black, then the banana itself turns mushy and translucent ... not good! Should I wrap the bananas in paper towels or something else so the Green Bag can't touch the skin of the banana? If not ... then the TV ads and the picture on the box is very misleading because there is no way the bananas are staying anywhere close to "fresh" for 9 days! I've also got some veggies in the fridge in these bags and I'll wait to see how they do!

Most people think that it's exposure to air that causes the deterioration of food products when i have come to understand, that it is actually the emission of a certain gas from the food that actually cause deterioration. In the case of the green bags, they somehow absorbing these emissions so that the food stuff is not effected as in the case of the ziplock. It is the spongelike effect of the greenbag soaking up these emissions (i forgot what they're called) that make it unique and so marketable How can this be used in other areas by expanding this theory? I don't know, I'm a carpet man.

I put my lettuce in a ziplock bag and it got brown and unappetizing. It spoiled. On the other hand, i took some other lettuce and put it into a green bag. It came out fresh and crisp. Both were put into the bags at the same time, and both were opened at the same time. They were in the bags at least a week.
