Pick a Peck of Pepper Sauce
You can't go wrong with McIlhenny hot sauces -- though they aren't organic, they are made with local ingredients and contain no additives. McIlhenny is a Louisiana-based company that is very involved in the local community -- they support restoration and preservation of the wetlands, and they have even "given back" to help with flood relief work in Mexico to demonstrate gratitude for relief provided during Hurricanes Rita & Katrina.
McIlhenney's green pepper sauce is my favorite of their bunch (honestly, I prefer Crystal's red sauce). It's got just enough zip and doesn't have a strong vinegary/acid taste. It works great in guacamole, salad, broccoli, a spicy pumpkin seed pesto - or just about anything.
Note - they have an absolutely darling website - think "county fair" and check it out, but come back and write a review about their products here on SustainLane!

light green capsaicin on your grubs
Capsaicin is the chemical in hot peppers that is responsible for their heat and you can measure it. This green sauce is very light even though it's made from jalapenos. It's got that exquisite tang, much milder than the red, and a palate blend balance to die for. I'm hooked... And you don't need TexMex to enjoy it. Great on pizza, on sandwiches, in salads.
