A company that recycles plastic milk jugs into safe kids toys. All products are made in the USA.
415-839-9971I ran into this company a few weeks ago at the San Francisco Green Apple festival, and I was so impressed by their business model and product that I actually contemplated buying myself a plastic bucket set. I am 23!
Basically, these guys take old milk cartons and turn it into toys! The website can explain all the details better than I can, but the main points are that these products have no BPA's or pthalates, are mostly if not completely recycled, and are made in the USA. Plus they look awesome! Such cool pastel colors. I totally recommend this brand for anyone with kids and a conscience.

I just read an article about bioplastics - corn-based plastic. After seeing prototypes of this material at the Massive Change exhibit last year, I was excited to think we could abandon our petroleum plastics in favor of these. What a revolution bioplastics could make, but before we jump on a new bandwagon, it's important to examine the real costs behind this new technology. See this link http://www.afreshsqueeze.com/articleDtl.php?id=4703de1332e5c for the article and explanation why bioplastics should only be "at best a transitional technology until people get over the idea of cheap, easy, disposable plastic bottles. We need to focus on consuming less and recycling more—even if it is biodegradable." I think these toys are a better alternative and certainly - I hope - safer than conventional toxic plastics for kids.

Hey - don't dis the plastic bucket sets, they have many uses. You can take them out to Ocean Beach to make sand castles. And - you can use them to store up water when "The Big One" hits. You'll be glad you have them! more »
