Shop Smarter. Request eco-friendly office supplies like recycled printer paper, non-toxic ink and cleaning products from TheGreenOffice.com. They practice climate-conscious shipping too!
Recycle and reward recycling efforts.Tell your facilities coordinator about donating and recycling discarded computer equipment. Suggest a local charity or a resource like GreenCitizen.com. Use the earnings from can and bottle recycling to fund Friday beer bashes or ice cream socials. It’s an added incentive to put those bottles and cans where they belong.
Save Energy. Talk to your office manager about purchasing Energy Star certified appliances
for greater energy cost-savings.
Use energy-saving powerstrips like Smart Strip. The initial cost is higher but they pay for themselves in energy cost-savings within a year.
Use natural light to keep your office bright, switching to power-saving light bulbs after-hours.
Turn off computers and monitors at night and talk to your technology requisitions person about switching to less toxic monitors like the LG Flatron.
Reduce Waste. Print fewer copies. Use both sides of the paper when you must print. Whenever possible, stick with digital files. Check out GreenPrint’s nifty software -- it reduces printer paper waste.
Pack your lunch or at the very least, bring your own cutlery and tableware to cut down on wasteful paper cups, napkins and plastic utensils.

I'd like to add to this list... "TAKE THE INITIATIVE!" ... In the past, I have worked in offices where no one really knew what was or wasn't recycled by the facility manager. It led to a lot of confusion and, probably, the unnecessary lugging home of recyclables to recycle.
In our office now, we've been confused about recycling and composting options. Someone in our office took it upon herself to contact the building manager and ASK. Now it seems we may soon have composting, and now we know that nearly everything -- save for styrofoam -- is recycled here.
