green alternative to home depot
Greenmaker is a local business, they have great service and though currently a bit small, they will soon be located in the new Green Exchange on Diversey. I have shopped here twice, once to buy a 'green' and safer pest control spray - they do exist! I was happy to find a line of essential oil sprays that seem almost edible if you ask me, but work well on bugs in your house or on your plants. One of the sprayers didn't work, so I returned and they happily exchanged it. They were eager for my feedback on these products as they are new. I also bought some paint - finally I can paint furniture without the toxic VOCs. Yes you may pay a bit more for these green products, but I'd rather do that than pay for medications, and higher insurance premiums later. Keep up the great work guys!

Great Floors!!!
Loved their bamboo floors!! Their cork floors look too different to put in the house, but the bamboo floors are the way to go!!

Green Building Supply
I am so excited that there is a company in Chicago that will help us in so many ways with our upcoming remodel. They have a lot of different products that has made me change my ideas of what I will do in our remodel. They also have connections to different contractors who can help with green building. It is a great idea and I wish the best of luck to this company of young professionals dedicated to making our city and our planet a better place.

I visited the Greenmaker supply warehouse and they were very helpful and they have so many varied products. I especially was interested in their recycled blue jean insulation. What a great resource for home builders who want to go green!

What a concept!!!
I cannot believe that it took so long for somebody to create a central location for environmentally friendly building products. With the home-improvement boom spurred by channels like HGTV and rising interest in green technology, this store has arrived at the perfect time.

Great company, with a great purpose
Not only are owners Ori and Joe great guys, but they care deeply about environmental issues, and whether your needs are non-off gassing paints, sustainable flooring options, energy efficient lighting options or dual flush toilet, you will find everything that you need to not only make your home look beautiful, but sustainable (and economic) as well!

Great place to find all types of building materials.
I really like this company. They carry quality flooring, floor finishing materials, paints, etc. They are extremely helpful in helping you select the correct materials you need and in all aspects of technical information. I highly recommend a trip to Greenmakers!
