HP Planet Partners doing its part
A few weeks ago, my boyfriend handed me this hand-sized green package, addressed to Hewlett Packard Planet Partners. He explained that our printer ink had run out and that we could send the empty cartridge to HP for recycling. I'd heard about this type of program before, but hadn't taken part in it, mostly out of laziness. Today, I walked to the post office and dropped it off with my other snail mail and it felt kinda good. :) HP provides postage paid, pre-addressed envelopes to make it easy for you to to participate. In 2005, 25 million ink cartridges worldwide were returned to be shredded and used to create new products, generate energy or be disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner (what's really done with the left overs?)
