definitive book on urban sustainability rankings

This beautifully put together book on the updated SustainLane US City Rankings, complete with diagrams, an intro by Paul Hawken, and thoughtful and insightful prose all throughout, is the definitive work on urban sustainability rankings for US cities. Warren Karlenzig has been leading this effort, to draw attention to all of the amazing work that cities are engaging in, at local and state governmental levels, as well as at county levels. You can visit his blog at greenacity.com. When the US City Rankings were first released in 2005, Houston launched a sustainability office in response to the Ranking's findings and has been on a tear ever since. Though it's not very transparent of me to recommend this book since I am currently with the organization SustainLane, I'm going to say that I would recommend this book even if I was not with SustainLane. It'll educate you about your city. By 2030, some 60% of Americans will live in cities -- today that number hovers around the mid-40's.
