This is kind of funny... and maybe sad. Do snails like being in such tiny aquariums? do they know? do they care?

They like it in the same way that fish like to be in an aquarium :)

No, they don't like it. I guess it just depends on the type of person you are and how much you care about marine life. It is the same with Beta fish. NO, they do NOT like to live in such small containers where they can barely move. The only reason people do this is because the fish is used to living in an oxygen poor environment. So this is a cheap way of having fish because you don't need filters or aerators. But simply because it is possible and cheap, doesn't make it humane. This poster compared this snail with fish in an aquarium. Which is true, but what is the size of the aquarium? Obviously, you can retort with extreme examples like domesticating dogs in a small environment (your home). But it's not the same. In this example, the housing is exceptionally small. It would be comparable to making a dog live in a small cage....24/7.

No doubt your little "aquarium" is cute. An a neat little project. How about just adding colorful stones or itty bitty seashells?
